Aston Villa face Lazio in a pre-season friendly at Walsall’s Poundland Bescot Stadium in early August.

The Serie A club, who finished second in the Italian top-flight last season, have fond memories of the West Midlands having lifted the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1999 after defeating Mallorca at Villa Park.

Maurizio Sarri’s I Biancocelesti will play Champions League football this season and will prove stern opposition for Unai Emery’s side who recently played in the USA Summer Series.
