Rangers and Aberdeen will contest this season’s Viaplay Cup Final, with both sides desperate to end long droughts for silverware in the competition.
Record-competition winners Rangers have been beaten finalists in two of the last four seasons but will hope for better luck under new manager Philippe Clement.
The Ibrox side recorded the last of their 27 wins in this competition nearly 13 years ago, back in 2010/11, and will be keen to get their name etched back onto the prestigious trophy.
Their Hampden opponents on 17th December will be just as determined to end their own wait for success in the competition. Six-times winners Aberdeen were victorious in this competition in 2014 but have lost their previous two visits to this stage of the tournament, falling to Celtic in both 2017 and 2019.
Dons saw off Hibernian with 10-men in the semi-finals to book their final showdown and manager Barry Robson will hope his side show the same fighting spirit when they face a Rangers side that eliminated them at the semi-final stage last season.
