Manchester City host Premier League rivals Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals this December, in a first meeting between the two sides in the competition since 1989.

Pep Guardiola’s side, who lifted the silverware for four successive seasons from 2017, booked a last-eight appearance for only the second time since 2021 with victory over Swansea City in the previous round.

The visiting Bees also have an impressive recent track-record in the tournament, having reached this stage for the fourth time in six seasons following an emphatic 5-0 triumph at Grimsby Town.

Brentford boss Keith Andrews brings his fearless side to the Etihad in December, a venue they were last victorious at in 2022, for what has all the ingredients of being a stellar tie.
