Port Vale host a first-ever Carabao Cup quarter-final in the club’s history this December as they host Championship side Middlesbrough. 

The Valiants ended Mansfield Town’s 20-game unbeaten run to reach the competition’s final four for the first time, having previously fallen in round four in 2006 to Tottenham Hotspur.

League One's Vale now welcome Michael Carrick’s Teesside's to Vale Park in a first meeting of the two sides since 1998, and a first ever head-to-head in this competition. Championship Boro, who lifted the silverware in 2003/04, last reached this stage five seasons ago and will be overwhelming favourites to progress to the last four.
