Manchester City are competing in Europe’s top tier of continental competition for a 16th successive season and have a maiden meeting against AEK Athens in October.

Greece’s champions, who also reached the quarter-finals of last year’s Conference League, are hoping to upset the odds when they make a first-ever visit to Etihad Stadium.

The Dikefalos are serial winners in their homeland, having won 14 top-flight titles and 16 Greek Cups, as well as being the only Greek side to reach the quarter-finals of this competition back in 1968/69.

City welcome Marko Nikolic’s behemoths on Tuesday 20th October for the stellar tie, with the visitors boasting some familiar names in former Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic, captain Petros Mantalos and Croatia international Domagoj Vida.
