Raith Rovers and Inverness Caledonian Thistle have their eyes fixed on lifting the Challenge Cup for a fourth time when they clash in April’s final.

Hosted at Partick Thistle’s Wyre Stadium, the inaugural final under the current Champions League-style format concludes on Sunday 5th April with both sides looking to lift the newly-branded KDM Evolution Trophy.

League 1 leaders Caley Thistle topped the competition’s league phase with a 100 percent record, then defeated Dumbarton 9-0, eliminated Partick on penalties, and enjoyed slender victories over Stenhousemuir and Championship side Ayr United on the road.

Scott Kellacher’s third-tier side, who were joint winners in 2019/20, face stiff opposition though to get their hands on the new silverware once again, with fellow finalists Rovers in their third final in five seasons. 

The Kirkcaldy club, who are mid-table in the Championship, last won the competition in 2022 and Dougie Imrie’s side eliminated League 1 duo Hamilton Academical and Queen of the South, before seeing off Queen’s Park and Airdrieonians after normal time to book their place in the showpiece finale.

It is sure to be a captivating affair at Firhill and supporters can pre-order this ‘must have’ piece of cherished memorabilia.

The official match-day publication of the SPFL is a spine-bound B5-size 68-page commemorative edition and is available for £5, plus post and packaging to a UK address. Overseas deliveries will incur an increased P&P charge, which will be calculated based on the delivery address provided.
