Sheffield United face Bristol City in a Championship play-off decider as they aim to take their promotion push all the way to Wembley.

The Blades finished third in the second-tier with 28 wins from 46 games, amassing 90 points, and will encounter a City side over two legs that finished in sixth spot some 22 points behind them.

The South Yorkshire side are aiming for an immediate return to the Premier League, after relegation in 2023/24, but have never been promoted via the play-offs in nine attempts – the last of which came in 2021/22 with semi-final disappointment to Nottingham Forest.

However, Blades boss Chris Wilder has already masterminded the club to two promotions and will be determined to make it a hat-trick under his watch by taking full advantage of a second leg at a raucous Bramall Lane.

The visiting Robins, who drew 1-1 in S2 in March, will be equally as determined to book a May date in the capital after earning a play-off berth for the first time in 17 years.

The Ashton Gate outfit have failed in the play-offs on five occasions themselves, most recently to Hull City in 2007/08, but are desperate to end a decade-long stay in the Championship and reach the Premier League for the first time under Liam Manning.
