ON TOP OF THE WORLD

2025-26

Ignition Sports Media played its part in a historic night for Hull Kingston Rovers, as they defeated Brisbane Broncos to win the World Club Challenge for the first time.

The reigning Super League champions produced a thrilling first-half showing against the NRL premiers to lead 18-4 at the break, then withstood a second-half fightback to prevail 30-24 on an emotional night for those in red and white.

The victory in front of 24,000 supporters at the MKM Stadium means the Robins now hold all four major titles in Rugby League, and are only the sixth English club to win the competition since its inception in 1987.

To mark the one-off finale ISM produced a publication fit for the occasion, dubbed the ‘Clash of the Champions’. Edited by Andy Wilson, the 68 page A4 perfect-bound tome proved a must-have keepsake for all ‘rocking’ Robins.

As well as welcomes from club owner Neil Hudgell, leader of Hull City Council Mike Ross, MP for Kingston Upon Hull East Karl Turner and President of the RFL Adam Hills, there was a plethora of must-read features. These included trips down memory lane on previous clashes between the two hemispheres, potted histories of both clubs and exclusive interviews with Robins Head Coach Willie Peters and his Broncos equivalent Michael Maguire.

ISM’s General Manager David Middleton said: “The publication marked a seminal moment in the history of Hull KR’s rise back to the top of the game and we were privileged to play a small part in that.

“Allowing Robins’ fans who pre-ordered online to have their names published on a ‘Roll of Robins’ within the matchday programme added a personalised feel to an already excellent publication, which will stand the test of time as a memento to cherish.”

Supporters can still order a copy of the publication from https://www.ignitionsportsmedia.com/products/hull-kr-vs-brisbane-broncos while stocks last.
